Why aren't your cards free?

You get what you pay for. Free cards typically feature a simple animation and no interaction. Our cards offer a rich game experience unlike any free card available. You won't find a free card that offers the quality and depth of graphics, sound, animation and interaction that our cards do. We have found that experiences with our cards typically lasts about 20 minutes and are often played again and again. Experiences with most free cards last less than a few minutes and are typically only played once.

If you want to send someone a quick gift that you can send from anywhere, they will certainly appreciate a unique present you buy for them more than a freebie anyone can get.

Perhaps most importantly, most free card services make their money by selling your personal information. They also employ cookie technology which tracks your website browsing. This results in annoying junk email and mail, pop-up ads, and unsolicited phone calls. Read the privacy policy of any free animated greeting service to find out how much of your private information you are giving away. We prefer to be direct in how we generate revenue and not share your private information with anyone.

How long does it take to download a card?

Our cards range in size from about 200k to 800k, with 500k being the average. So, depending on the speed of your Internet connection, it can take from just a few seconds to a few minutes before the card starts playing in your browser. Our product is ideally suited for Broadband connections such as Cable, DSL and ISDN, but can be enjoyed by anyone with a 56k modem.

What is a Gift Notice?

When you send a Game Greetings card to someone special, that person receives a Gift Notice in their email. The Gift Notice contains a personal message from you, instructions on how to play it, and a special link. By clicking on this link, the card is automatically personalized and plays right inside a web browser.

Can I play a card I buy for someone else?

Yes, whenever you send an Game Greetings card, both you and the receiver of the card will be emailed a Gift Notice. The Gift Notice contains instructions and a special link that you use to personalize and play your card.

For which age groups are your cards appropriate?

Our cards can be enjoyed by children as young as 3 as well as by older kids, teens and adults. In fact, we have received especially good feedback from many age groups, including kids and adults. Only basic computer experience such as moving the mouse is required to use our cards. Certain cards are targeted for a younger audience, while others offer extra challenges an adult would enjoy. We suggest you try a card by clicking the Free Demo button and gauging whether the person you have in mind would enjoy it.

Why don't you offer more cards?

Unlike some of the big interactive greeting card companies, we offer a small selection of Game Greetings cards. That's because we put a lot of time and effort into each one of them. We could produce more cards faster, but they wouldn't meet our high standards for quality and creativity – much like the free cards you can get at many websites. We are only interested in producing top-quality cards that can be enjoyed over and over again.

Will playing your cards mess up my computer?

No. Nothing is installed or modified on your computer. Shockwave is also a trusted technology that includes special security features and has been safely used for many years.
